A rest is called for..

Greetings all, we managed to escort the priest to the castle without any hassle. When we arrived we were escorted into the courtyard where the queen was making an announcement. It seems like she is taking this blood veil seriously. She has appointed a royal physician to oversee the control of this disease, which sounds like a good idea. I say sounds like a good idea because this doctor seems to be accompanied by these strange ‘doctors’ who are clad in large hats and cloaks and have strange bird like masks on. No sure about them, but if they are here to help then I won’t interfere, unless I have too. Also there is a lady called the Grey Lady all clad in armour who is now the right arm of the queen and has her own force of grey ladies to do the queens bidding. She has been given total authority by the queen and even outranks the captain of the city guards. I’m even more unsure about her, so will have to keep watch on the grey ladies. But if they are here to stop this plague then lets hope they do a good job.

A few days later we were sent to investigate an alleyway where it had been reported that some of the dead collectors had been dumping bodies rather than taking them down to the cemetery.

We arrived at the alley which was located just behind a toyshop, this was a strange little toy shop, the owner made all the usual sort of toys you’d expect but they always had eyes missing or the hair was falling out or sometimes limbs missing, but it didn’t seem to matter the kids loved them and they were highly sort after… in fact I believe I used to have one many years ago.

Anyway I digress, the alleyway did indeed contain a larger amount of bodies just dumped their. While investigating the bodies we were attacked by two vampire spawn… why they were in korvosa we don’t know, probably drawn here by all the death going on. Any way they didn’t stand much of a chance against our paladin and the rest of our crew, even Zonda joined in , I’ve noticed recently she has been getting a bit to keen to fight, I must keep an eye on her.

I discovered a hole in the wall of the toyshop so entered first, inside the shop we found the toy maker dead and covered in loads of vampire bite marks, the poor soul never stood a chance. I noticed movement near the ceiling and two more vampire spawn attacked, A few fire balls later one had been destroyed, I knew that spell would come in handy. The other one was set upon by Zonda who destroyed it rather violently, I think the change that everyone predicted is coming.

Due to Zonda’s recent violent outbreaks I have taken leave of the party so that I can help her through the change and try and calm her down a bit. It also gives me some more time to practice some of my magic and shape changing abilities.

Did I not mention I could shape change ? I’m only just beginning to get the hang of the it, I have mastered small animals and a few larger ones. Zonda did freak a bit when I changed into a pony for the first time, plus how was I to know the she has an appetite for small dear. That was a bad day, so I won’t turn into one of them again. Lets hope I can calm her down a bit.

One of the spells I have worked out is tuning into a tree…. Not the most useful of spells in a fight as once you’re a tree there’s not much you can do, but for relaxing it’s amazing. I have managed to calm Zonda down quite a bit by turning into a large tree on the edge of the cliff just outside, Zonda then falls asleep in my braches. It’s amazing what you can feel when being a tree, the wind in your branches , the birds that land on you they tickled at first, but I think they had a shock when I changed back. Also you can feel everything in the ground, people seem to forget about the roots of the trees. You can feel every stone, every insect, every worm even the sea eroding the cliff edge. You can feel the ground and become one with nature, perfect.

Zonda has indeed gone through the change and is now a lot bigger than she used to be, so no more hiding under my cloak or sitting on my shoulder I’m afraid. Not sure how we’ll explain her appearance to the more timid people of the city, but we’ll think of something. Now the change has happened she’s not as aggressive anymore which is good, but the claws on her feet are huge so I will spend the next few weeks training her so she doesn’t get carried away again.

I will catch up with the party later, now that Zonda isn’t a danger to them.

Appologies

So much has passed since my last entry, it has been hectic here in Korvosa, let me explain briefly.

We met a gentleman in an inn who sent us after Lamm for killing his son.
I underestimated my fellow associates, they managed to track down Lamm and dispatch him easily, something didn't seem right it was far too easy. It turns out lamb wasn't the druid I was led to believe but just a petty criminal. How did one so pathetic get to run such an empire, I believe he was being used by someone much higher up who want's to remain hidden.... I will keep an eye out for this some things not right I feel it.

While this was going on the King misteriously died. The Queen announced that she was taking over, this isn't how it's done in Korvosa, the Queen is not well liked. Riots started all over the city and the city guards were left helpless. While searching Lamms final resting place we came across a braclet belonging to the Queen. The Paladin said we have to return it to her, so off we went to the castle.

Some how we ended up being recruited into the services of the city guards, and where sent on a few missions, one of these was to the Spider King, a strange man who runs the docks. We made friends with him, which was just as well as we had need of him a few days later.

A young artist was accused of killing the King, and we were sent to track her down. When we found her she explained that she was being set up and wasn't around when the King had died and was being used as a scapegoat so the riots would stop. We managed to smuggle her out of the city with the help of the spider king so she wouldn't be found.

Another mission saw us head underneath the graveyard to rescue the son of the chiefton of one of the tribes that used to live in Korvosa, if his son wasn't found then war would be a certainty. We managed to find his body in the catacombs, in several locations, but there was no sign of the necromancer that abducted him.

When we got back to the castle the young artist girl had been found and was due to be exicuted. During the exicution the legendry hero Blackjack who hadn't been seen for a decade in the city returned and saved the girl.., with a little help from us, but don't tell anyone. Blackjack has been known for 50 years in these parts, no one knows if it is the same man or the mask has been handed down through the generations. No doubt we will meet him one day and uncover his secrets.

All was quiet in Korvosa after that. One of the guards asked us for help, it seemed his daughter was sickend with a strange illness. We took her to a church outside of the village to get her healed, but since returning to the city we have found this Blood Veil, as they are calling it, is spreading through the city, we have been enlisted to help protect the local priests on there way to the castle so I must go they are waiting for me.

I am Veyron

Greetings all, I am the druid Veyron and this is my story...

I live in the city of Korvosa, on the cliffs over looking the sea, my friends and neighbours know not what I am, let me explain.
I am a half-elf, who are not the most popular race in the city but I can do nothing about the heritage of my birth so I take the comments and sly looks people give me with a pinch of salt. This fact I can not hide from people, but the one I can hide from them is the fact that I am a Druid.
You see Druids are even less popular in this city that half-elves, that is because they run this city. Officially the city is run by the King and Queen and all his polititions, but everyone knows that the druid crimelord Gaedren Lamm really runs things. He has his "Little Lambs" , Young Street Urchins who he gets to rob and steal while his Ligitamate buisnessess cover up for all his other crimes. He's been opperating in the city for decades but has never been caught, and now the officials refuse to investigate his crimes, they are obviously on his books, so he gets away with murder...literally. Gaedren Lamm and the members of his Druid family are the sort of people you don't want to get on the wrong side of.
How do I know all this ? , quite simple really, I got on the wrong side of him once.
Being a young druid I was enlisted into his family and trained, but I found out the truth of how he treats his little lambs, and I was not prepared to assist in the tourture and even murder of these innocent children, so I spoke out.  A few days later I was arrested by the city gaurds for a murder I didn't commit, apparently there was an eye witness who saw me, a fisherman I believe. Even though this fisherman changed his story a few weeks later the damage had been done, I was outcast from the Druids and all by friends diserted me and I lost everything. So now I hide away in my house waiting, training and studying for the day to come when I can get some revenge on Gaedren Lamm for what he has done to my name and reputation.
The only friend I have is a small dinosaur, yes I said Dinosaur called Zonda. She has been with me for several years after I found her egg abandond on the cliff edge one day. She is a Deinonychus I believe, quite small, with the appearance of a half lizard half bird. I am told she will get much bigger but she hasn't grown much yet so I'll wait and see, but I can handle her.

She stays mainly out of site tucked up in the folds of my robes so as not to draw attention to herself, I am currently working on getting her to sit on my shoulder and bring out her bird like side, so people might think I am a wizard with a familliar. Lets hope she doesn't grow too big before I get this right.

You never know she might fool someone one day.

So thats me in a nut shell, now on with the adventure....

I have been asked to meet with some other souls who also have grievences against Gaedren Lamm, I assume someone wants us to take him on enmass. I will go out of curiosity, but I don't need their help, Enemies of my Enemies and all that, it can't do any harm to find out.

I will get my revenge......

A change in direction.

As you may have noticed I've changed the name of this blog to coinside witht eh new D&D campaign started at the weekend. This blog will now follow the adventures of my character Veyron.

yep thats them. So a few paniky emails and texts to Pete and the manager to confirm this, and yes its true, but it's ok Go West aren't splitting up its just an "as well as" rather than an "instead of"

Blimey was it really Wednesday that I last did this ? shame on me.
Any way what has happened to me over the last few days ?

Not much really, to be honest.
Thursday I went to work and got stuck on the train for 52 minutes, which is longer than the journey normally takes. The day at work was fairly normal, nothing exciting there. Had to set up a video conference, but that was about it.
Friday went to Clare hall, did a bit. We went to a quiz in the evening and came 8th out of 22, so that was OK.
Saturday (today) I took Katie to Men behaving Dadly, in the morning then we went to the library , then tesco's. That was it, and now I'm here.

So what should I talk about today ?
No Idea .., Me either, no idea.
